Mary Eleanor Ainscough, 84, of Washington and formerly of Bloomfied, died Thursday, July 21, 2011 at Hillside Manor Nursing Home.
Born Sept. 13, 1926 in Daviess County, the daughter of Luther Steel and Helen Overbay Steel.
She married Gerald Ainscough on July 27, 1973. He died Oct. 12, 1995.
A 1944 graduate of Washington High School, she was a retired bookkeeper for Don Gress Construction Company. She is a past Matron of Eastern Star Chapter 210, Past Guardiant Job's Daughter and D.F.O. Class of Church.
Survivors include: a daughter, Connie (Donald) Baker of Bloomfield; step-son, Preston (Judy) Ainscough of Odon; grandsons, Christian Hays and Jason Hayes; great-grandchildren, McKenzie Hays, Devon Hays, Kaetlyn Hays, Savanna Hayes and Sophie Jackson Hayes; sisters, Eloise Carrico of Washington, Millicent Miley of Merritt Island, Fla. and Judy (Bob) Kluesner of Vincennes.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a son, Robert Lewis; sisters, Virginia Green, Frances Miller; brothers, John Steele and William Steele.
Graveside services will be at 9 a.m. Aug. 5, 2011 at Sugarland Memory Gardens in Washington with Bro. Bryon Holtsclaw officiating. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
There will be no visitation.
