LINTON POLICE DEPARTMENT

ACTIVITY REPORT

The Linton Police log for Aug. 5-7 included: One illegal burn, one juvenile case, three vandalism cases, one custody dispute, one criminal mischief case, one animal cruelty case, one civil complaint, one public intoxication case, three property damage traffic accidents, two reports of prowlers, one burglary, one harassment complaint, one reckless driver, six theft cases, two bicycle thefts, one vehicle theft, two domestic dispute, three battery cases and 20 traffic stops.

* Aug. 7 -- A resident who lives at Route 2, Linton, reported that art supplies had been taken from her vehicle sometime during the early morning hours of Aug. 7. The stolen items included a box of paint supplies valued at $200, a bag of art charcoal valued at $70 and a child's booster seat valued at $40. The case remains under investigation.

* Aug. 7 -- Another resident who lives on Route 2, Linton, reported to the LPD that an i-Pod valued at $100 had been taken from a vehicle. The case remains under investigation.

* Aug. 6 -- LPD Det. Josh Goodman is investigating the theft of some prescription medications from a residence on H Street NW. The victim said she had some friends over to her house and after everyone had left, she noticed that her prescriptions were missing -- including and unknown quantity of Aderal, Prystiq and Cymbalta.

* Aug. 6 -- The LPD was dispatched to Shield's Hardware Store on State Road 54 West. A male, Elijah Halderman, 22, Route 2, Linton, walked into the store bleeding on the arm and foot. Officer Nick Yingling stated in his report that Halderman was intoxicated. His was not able to stand up, his eyes were glassed over and he could not keep his eyes open. He was arrested for public intoxicated and taken to jail in Bloomfield.

* Aug. 6 -- The LPD investigated a reported hit-and-run case that occurred about 2:30 a.m. in front of a residence on I Street NW. There was a gray paint transfer on the passenger side front quarter panel from the impact, officer Nick Yingling reported.

* Aug. 6 -- Someone reportedly stole five solar lights from a yard on 5th Street NW, according to a report filed by officer Yingling.

* Aug. 6 -- LPD is investigating a leaving the scene of an accident report on State Road 54W that happened sometime between 6 p.m. and midnight on Aug. 5.

DEPARTMENT JAIL LOG

* Aug. 7 -- Byron K. Marvin, 21, of Newberry, was arrested by the Greene County Sheriff's Department on a preliminary charge of battery with bodily injury. He was released after posting $1,000 bond. Court date was set for Aug. 12 at 8:30 a.m.

* Aug. 7 -- Ryan D. Powell, 25, of Linton, was arrested by the Greene County Sheriff's Department on a preliminary charge of battery with bodily injury to a pregnant woman. Bond set at $10,000.

* Aug. 7 -- Gary S. Henderson, 42, of Sullivan, was arrested by the Indiana State Police on a preliminary charge of operating a vehicle while intoxicated. He was released from jail after posting $8,000 bond. Court date set for Aug. 12 at 9:30 a.m.

* Aug. 7 -- Tara L. Magee, 27, of Crawfordsville, was arrested by the Linton Police Department on a Montgomery County felony warrant. No bond was set, pending notification of Montgomery County authorities.

* Aug. 6 -- Jessica R. Huffman, 29, of Elnora, was arrested by the Greene County Sheriff's Department on a felony theft warrant. No bond was set pending a court appearance.

* Aug. 6 -- Elijah R. Halderman, 22, Route 2, Linton, was arrested by the Linton Police Department on a preliminary charge of public intoxication. Released after posting $500 bond. Court date set for Aug. 12 at 8:30 a.m.

* Aug. 6 -- Anthony Niebrugge, 41, Linton, was arrested by the Indiana State Police on a preliminary charge of operating a vehicle while intoxicated with a prior conviction and refusal to take breath test. He was released from jail after posting $8,000 bond. Court date set for Aug. 12 at 9:30 a.m.

* Aug. 6 -- Ryan C. Lockard, 21, of Sullivan, was arrested by the Linton Police Department on a preliminary charge of public intoxication. Released after posting $50 bond.
