Born Feb. 23, 1935 in Park, Ind., he was the son of William Bret and Olive Fern (Crane) Raper.
Ralph was a school teacher and coach, teaching at Paoli, Switz City Central, L&M, Eastern Greene, and Bloomfield. He was also a school administrator and a farmer. He graduated from Indiana University and received his masters from Indiana State University. He was a member of the Bloomfield Masonic Lodge, Kentucky Colonel, and the Indiana retired teachers association. He was a member of the Mansions in Heaven church and also attended the Pleasant Kentucky Ridge Church. He was an Army veteran.
Surviving relatives include his wife Wandalyn Raper of Bloomfield; his children, Bret Daniel (Angela) Raper of Bloomington, Mark Alfred (Ranatta) Raper of Stanford, and Erin Michael (Angela) Raper of Bloomfield; six grandchildren, Hannah Raper, Gregory Raper, Bryce Raper, Madyson Raper, Elisha Raper and Elaina Raper; and several nieces and nephews.
Ralph was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, William Leon Raper.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 26 at the Cincinnati Christian Church and 1 p.m. on Saturday until the hour of service at the church.
Service will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 27 at the Cincinnati Christian Church with the Rev. Arlen Pope officiating. Burial will follow at Walnut Grove Cemetery in Bloomfield.
In lieu of flowers the family wishes all donations be made to a local church or charity of ones choice.
