Charles W. Tincher, 85, of Lyons, passed away Thursday, Sept. 1, 2011 at Glenburn Nursing Home in Linton.
He was born Aug. 20, 1926 in Greene County to Murl Irvin and Bessie (Padgett) Tincher. Charles married Hazel M. Crynes on March 1, 1958.
Charles served in the U.S. Army during WWII where he received two Bronze Stars during his enlistment. He was employed at the GE Plant in Linton where he had 31 years of service. Charles was a member of the American Legion Post 22 and the VFW Post 7118 of Linton.
Survivors include one sister, Annalee Hostettler of Worthington and he was also survived by several nieces and nephews. Charles was also survived by long-time special friend, Evelyn Mullis.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Hazel Tincher, Oct. 11, 1991; three brothers, Paul, Elmo and Robert Tincher; and one sister, Velma Knowles.
The funeral service will be 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 3 at Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel.
Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery with full military rites.
Friends may call at Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel in Linton from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday.
