Gary Lewis Carter, 71, of Robinson, Ill., died Monday September 5, 2011 at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana, IL, after several weeks of

declining health.

He was born in Dugger and graduated Union High School in 1958, and graduated St. Anthony's School of Radiology, Terre Haute. Gary was retired as a Radiologist, Crawford Memorial Hospital, Robinson, and served as the department head of Radiology from 1961 to 1977.

He then went to work for Marathon Oil Company, Robinson, IL as a pumphouse operator from 1977 to 1999. Gary was a member of the First

United Methodist Church, Robinson; B.P.O. Elks #1188, Robinson; past Exalted Ruler; District Deputy Grand Exalted Ruler; past State of Illinois Elk of the Year; and past Robinson Elk of the Year, two times.

Survivors include his wife, Connie (Quick) Carter, Robinson; sons and daughters-in-law, Scott and Cathy Carter, Beloit, Wis., Mike Carter, Beloit, Wis, Keith and Kirtina Carter, Terre Haute; mother-in-law, Maxine Quick, Robinson; sisters Sue Ann Weger, Terre Haute,

Jerri Maxey, San Jose, Calif.; brother-in-law, Larry and Phuong Quick, Robinson; three nephews, including Robert K. Quick, Robinson; five grandsons, three granddaughters, four great-grandchildren and

several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be Saturday,, Sept. 10 at 11a.m. at Pulliam Funeral Home, Robinson with Rev. Louis Youngs officiating.

Visitation is Friday, Sept. 9 from 4-8 p.m. at Pulliam Funeral Home in Robinson. Burial will be in the Kirk Chapel Cemetery, rural Robinson.

Memorial donations may be made to the Elks National Foundation or the First United Methodist Church with envelopes available at the funeral home.
