He was born in Sullivan on March 14, 1945, the son of Dale Alumbaugh and Martina Murphy Alumbaugh.
Daniel retired from Local 525 in Las Vegas, he was an Air Force veteran, a member of the St. Peter's Catholic Church in Linton, Linton American Legion Post 22, VFW, and the NRA.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Earlene Grayson Alumbaugh, his second wife, Elka McMinn Alumbaugh, also one son, Johnathan Alumbaugh, and one brother, Dennis Michael Alumbaugh.
Survivors include two sons, Dale Alumbaugh of Dugger, Robert Alumbaugh (Sharon) of Franklin, Ind., three daughters, Donna Denny (Terry) of Fairbanks, Kristin Alumbaugh of Linton, and Autumn McMinn of Las Vegas, Nev., one brother, Donald Alumbaugh (Patricia Dorsett) of Hymera, nine grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday Sept. 10, 2011 at Newkirk's Funeral Home in Dugger with Pastor Jack Alumbaugh officiating. Interment will be in the Dugger Cemetery with military graveside services by the Sullivan, Shelburn, and Hymera Legion Posts, and the Sullivan VFW Post.
