Maria J. Phillips, 86, of Bloomfield, passed away Thursday, Sept. 8, 2011 at her son's home in Bloomington.
Maria was born March 23, 1925 in Bloomfield, New Jersey to Anthony and Mary Zamojski.
She was married to James (Tex) D. Phillips on Dec. 27, 1944. She had been a member of the Trinity Baptist Church in Bloomfield. She retired from Bloomington Hospital as a Medical Education Coordinator.
Surviving relatives include her children, James D. (Carrie) Phillips, Jr. of Ladson, S.C., Pat (Mike) Wilson of Bloomfield, Ind., and Richard R. (Kelly) Phillips of Bloomington; six grandchildren, Meredith L. Phillips, James D. Phillips, III, Adrienne M. (Jeff) McCracken, Christina E. (Michael) Micioni, Richard R. Phillips II, Matthew C. Phillips; and two great-grandchildren Madelyn M. McCracken and Carter W. Micioni.
Maria was preceded in death by her parents, her husband James (Tex) D. Phillips and one great- grandson Jacob McCracken.
A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Sept, 17 at the Grace Baptist Temple, 2320 North Smith Pike, Bloomington, with the Pastor Doug Thompson officiating.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to Bloomington Hospital Home Health and Hospice, P.O. Box 1149, Bloomington, Ind., 47402 in memory of Maria J. Phillips.
