He was born in Shepherdsville, Ind., on Jan. 23, 1921. He was the son of Clarence Edward Heck Sr. and Edna Florence Thomas Heck.
Clarence was a retired carpenter, a WWII Army veteran, a member of the VFW Post 972 in Terre Haute, and a member of the American Legion Post 172 in Hymera and Jasonville.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Geraldine Bonee Heck in 1993, and one brother, William E. Heck.
Survivors include three sons, Gary L. Heck (Betty) of Jasonville, Jerry Ray Heck (Vickie) of Linton, and Donald Joseph Heck (Marla) of Linton; two daughters, Linda Darlene McKinney (Noel) of Linton and Brenda Heck Conception (Ruddy) of Germany, a very special friend, Aline Hensley and her daughter, Tina Cox of Linton; two brothers, Karl Heck of Linton and Paul Jones of Terre Haute; sister in-law, Delphen Heck of Terre Haute; two sisters, Pat McKinny (Lowell) of Cass and Gloria Feldmeier of Linton; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and nieces, and nephews.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2011 at Newkirk's Funeral Home in Dugger with Jerry Heck officiating. Interment will be in the K of P Cemetery in Hymera with military graveside services by Sullivan, Shelburn, and Hymera Legion Posts, and Sullivan County VFW Post.
