Robert E. "Bob" England, 90, of Sandborn, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2011 at Greene County General Hospital in Linton.

He was born Jan. 11, 1921, in Edwardsport to Edward and Bessie (Ireland) England. Bob married Dorothy Ines Terrell on Sept. 27, 1944.

Bob was a coal miner with Shasta Coal Mine and then worked for Wickes Lumber Company for 20 years. He retired in 1986. Bob enjoyed fishing, mowing and gardening.

Survivors include his daughter, Anna Bilyeu of Linton; granddaughter, Dawn Ann (Thompson) (Mike) Hockgeiger; great-grandson, Devan Michael Wood and great-granddaughter, Abbigale Hockgeiger all of Xenia, Ill. Bob was also survived by one sister, Marcella Peg Woodruff of Odon.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Dorothy England (Jan. 3, 2007); son, Bobby England (Feb. 27, 2009); two brothers and two sisters.

The funeral service will be Saturday, Oct. 8, 2011 at Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel in Linton at 1 p.m. with Bryan Sanders officiating. Burial will follow at the Sandborn Cemetery.

Friends may call at Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel in Linton from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, and from 11 a.m. until time of service Saturday.
