Born in Greene County, he was the son of Walter J. and Mary Belle (Bough) Boling.
He graduated from Scotland High School in 1950 where he was known as "Doodle." He was of the Pentecostal faith. Ronald Served 21 years in the Air Force retiring as S.M. Sgt. Precision Calibration Tech. He operated a CB radio shop in Lyons for 10 years. He then worked for Honeywell for 14 years in Largo, Florida.
Surviving relatives include: his wife, Helen (Hugunin) Sparks Boling of Largo, Fla.; one son, Randy E, Boling of Largo; one daughter, Phyllis Kinnaman (Mick) of Largo; three grandchildren, Mitchell and Ashley Boling of Largo, Fla. and Jim Shake of Cookville, Tenn.; three great, grandchildren, Taylor, Bailey and Brady; step children, Loren D. Sparks, Janet E. Holmes (Joe) and D. Eric Sparks (Lori) all of Bloomfield; nine step great, grandchildren and one great, great, grandchild; a sister, Betty Whittington of Sandborn; and sister-in-law, Bronnabeth Boling.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Wanda L. (Branson) Sweaney, one sister, Ruth Horning, brothers, Ralph, Robert, James and Vincent.
Burial will be at a later date in Scotland Cemetery. The family asks that all memorial contributions be made to the donor's favorite charity.
There are moments when I wish I could roll back the clock, and take all the sadness away, but I have the feeling that if I did, the joy would be gone as well.
