Elsie M. (Daniels) Royal, 91, of Bloomfield passed away Tuesday Nov. 1, 2011 at the Ketcham Memorial Center in Odon, Ind.
She was born on June 12, 1920 in Greene County, Ind., the daughter of Sylvanus and Emma E. (Emery) Daniels.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints of Linton. She worked on the farm along side of Dennis and her son Ace. She worked in the Genealogy Family History Center and helped anybody who needed her to help in family history, a seamstress, crocheted, loved to cook, loved animals and meeting new people. She was a member of the Scotland Historical Society, Anticoh Ladies Aid, a teacher in Sunday School and worked with many young people. She loved to sew quilts and quilting them with Vernice Summerville in the winter months.
Surviving relatives include her children; Ace Royal and Nancy Haddock both of Bloomfield. She has seven grandchildren; John Royal, Teresa Brough, Suzanne Kixmiller, Byron Royal, Lester Burch, Joe Burch and Asa Burch. She has five step-grandchildren; Diane Gamble, Landon Haddock, Geneva Perry, Wanda Johnson and Elaine Robertson, 22 great grandchildren, 16 great-great grandchildren, two half-sisters; Patty Vanarsdalen and Ann Cook, two half-brothers; Walter Ray Danield and Jack Daniels.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Dennis L. Royal on Sept. 20, 1988; and one brother, Sylvanus Daniels, Jr.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday and 9 a.m. Saturday until the hour of service at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield.
Services will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Joseph Wilson and Robert Warren officiating. Burial will follow at Walnut Grove Cemetery in rural Bloomfield.
