Roy R. Robertson, Jr., 66, of Lewis, Ind., passed away at 9:47 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 10, 2011 in Sullivan County Community Hospital.
He was born April 21, 1945 in Sullivan County to Roy R. Robertson, Sr. and Melba (Padgett) Robertson.
Survivors include his spouse, Beverly Jo (Conner) Robertson of Lewis, Ind., whom he married on Aug. 21, 1971; daughter and son-in-law, Tracy and Frederick Jeffrey, Jr. of Lewis, Ind.; son, Roy R. Robertson III of Lewis, Ind.; grandsons, Wyatt and Walker Jeffrey; nieces and nephews, Penny and Robert Baker of Lewis, Ind., Jeff Gilbert of Lewis, Ind., Pat and Jan Gilbert of Lewis, Ind., Jed and Terri Gilbert of Lewis, Ind.; brother-in-law, Sam Gilbert of Lewis, Ind.; several great nieces and nephews; two great-great nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Nancy Gilbert.
Roy retired from Metropolitan School District of Shakamak where he served as principal. He was a member of the Jasonville Masonic Lodge 530 F& AM. He served in the U.S. Army and was a Vietnam War veteran.
Arrangements are entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home, 218 South Meridian Street, Jasonville.
Visitation is scheduled from 4-8 p.m. on Monday with Masonic Memorial Services at 7 p.m., and Tuesday 9 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Funeral service are 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 15 at the Cox Funeral Home with Kevin Gilbert officiating.
Interment will be at Center Ridge Cemetery in Sullivan with military graveside rites.
