Earl Dean, 102, of Gainesville, Ga., a former native and longtime resident of Linton, died on Saturday, Nov. 12, 2011 in Gainesville, Ga.
He was born in Linton on April 18, 1909, the son of Frank and Fannie Dean.
He and his brothers owned and operated a trucking and ready-mix business in Linton for many years.
He is survived by a daughter, Donetta M. Haas of Gainesville, Ga., son-in-law, Paul Haas, Jr. of Gainesville, Ga., daughter-in-law, Roselyn McDaniel Dean of Cape Coral, Fla., seven grandchildren, Teresa Petrimoulx of Midland, Mich., Kathryn Kusisto of Fort Wayne, Alison Haas of Atlanta, Ga., Steven Haas of Clermont, Fla., Bryan Haas of Newport News, Va., Scott Dean of Cape Coral, Fla., and Mark Dean of Grand Rapids, Mich., and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Mildred T. Dean, a son, Donald R. Dean, three brothers, Ralph, Virgil, and Elmer Dean, and two sisters, Helen Park and Hazel Bradford.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 18 at Fairview Cemetery in Linton with Father Michael Madden officiating.
Visitation will be at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton on Friday from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at the funeral home.
