Jed L. McKinney, 54, of West Terre Haute, passed away at 2:05 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 19, 2011 in his residence after a battle with cancer.
He was employed with Walmart at Clinton where he was the Lawn and Garden Department Manager.
He was born Sept. 23, 1957 in Olney, Ill., to Myrel Vincent "Ted" McKinney and Shirley Ilene Reynolds McKinney.
Survivors include: his wife of 33 years, Mary Kristler McKinney whom he married on Sept. 16, 1978 in Linton; three children, Lucas McKinney and his wife, Jennifer of Rockville, Laura McKinney Farmer and her husband, Michael of Farmersburg, and Sarah McKinney of Terre Haute; his father, Ted McKinney; a sister, Judy Maris and her husband, Jim of St. Louis, Mo.; four brothers, Phil McKinney and his wife, Jane of Edwardsville, Ill., Teddy McKinney of St. Louis, Mo., Craig McKinney and his wife, Connie and Jason McKinney and his wife, Trish all of West Salem, Ill.; four grandchildren, Adam Michael Farmer, Reese Paige Farmer, Brenda Jane McKinney, and Rachel Victoria McKinney; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, a granddaughter, Chloe Elizabeth Farmer and his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Deloris and Lawrence Kristler of Linton.
He was a board member of LIFT of the Little Italy Festival and worked the Covered Bridge Festival in Bridgeton.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m. on Wednesday in Fitzpatrick Funeral Home in West Terre Haute with Reverends Jane McKinney, Keith McIntyre, and Jim Barnard officiating.
Burial will be in Bethesda Memorial Park. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday and one hour prior to service Wednesday.
The family kindly suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hux Cancer Center with envelopes available in the funeral home.
