Terry Lee Helderman, 68, of Switz City, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2011 at Floyd Memorial Hospital in New Albany, Ind.
Born Jan. 10, 1943 in Indianapolis, he was the son of Lester D. and Goldia (Emery) Helderman.
Terry drove a school bus for Switz City and WRV school system, he also farmed and had worked for Toltest. He was a member of the Lincoln Christian Church, Switz City Masonic Lodge and was a board member at Open Arms.
Surviving relatives include his wife Arla (Storms) Helderman of Switz City; his two daughters, Dee Durnil of Washington and Terri (Bryan) Hobbs of Fort Branch, Ind.; eight grandchildren, Chris Durnil, Caitlin Durnil, Jacob Durnil, Kaylee Jo Durnil, Bryn Hobbs, Alexia Hobbs, Drake Hobbs and Courtney Bedell; a sister, Patricia Payne of Indianapolis; one sister-in-law Ann Helderman of San Jose, Calif.; his mother-in-law and father-in-law Bruce and Henrietta Allen.
He was preceded in death by one son-in-law Steve Durnil, one brother Teddy Helderman, his father-in-law Roy "Skeeter" Storms and his parents.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, and 1 p.m. on Saturday until the hour of service at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield. Switz City Masonic Lodge will have a masonic service at 7 p.m. on Friday.
Service will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Joe Overman officiating. Burial will follow at Scotland Cemetery.
