Robert Earl VanMeter, 92, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2011 at his home in Tallahassee, Fla.
A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 2, at Roselawn Cemetery in Tallahassee.
Family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Thursday at Beggs Funeral Home, 3322 Apalachee Parkway, Tallahassee, Fla., 32311.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Big Bend Hospice, 1723 Mahan Center Blvd., Tallahassee, Fl. 32308.
A native of Linton, and former resident of St. Petersburg, Fla., he has resided in Tallahassee since 1987. He was a Mason and WWII veteran.
He is survived by a daughter, Suzee Taylor of Tallahassee; one brother, Ralph VanMeter of Bloomfield; and one sister, Mary Ledgerwood; five grandchildren, Zachariah Crady, Robert VanMeter III, Betsy Worden, Laura Baugher, and Lewis VanMeter; and seven great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Tribby VanMeter and a son Robert VanMeter II.
