He was born December 29, 1985, in Clay County the son of Robert Max and Lois Viola (Anderson) Ellis.
Nic graduated from Northview High School with the class of 2004. He worked at the Putnamville Correctional Facility and was currently employed as a correctional officer at the Federal Correctional Complex in Terre Haute. Nic was a member of the Fontanet Volunteer Fire Department.
Nic had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed playing paintball and lazer tag, playing video games, spending time with friends and family and especially riding his motorcycle.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Oscar T. Black, Phyllis Ellis and Gilbert Ellis as well as an uncle Willard Ellis and cousin Jesse Stapert.
Nic is survived by his parents: Robert and Viola Ellis of Brazil; a brother Philip Ellis of Terre Haute; maternal grandmother Nancy Black; aunts and uncles: Nancy Lynn Weinrich of Lafayette, Clifford Anderson (Cindy) Brazil, Chris Traver (Richard) of Brazil, Michael Jason Black of Clinton, Brian Black (Shiela) of Brazil, Edna Meeks (Randy) Georgia, Tony Ellis (Dirinda) Brazil, and Flo Ellis of Knightsville; as well as numerous cousins and extended family members.
Services will be held at Lawson-Miller Chapel, in Brazil, Thursday, Dec. 22 at 2:00pm with Pastor Tim Russell officiating. Burial will follow at Clearview Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home Thursday from 10 a.m. until time of services.
