Helen Louise (Miller) Zimmerly, 89, of Bloomington and formerly of Linton, passed away Monday morning, Dec. 19, 2011, at her residence in Bloomington.
She was born Oct. 23, 1922 in Linton, the daughter of Harry and Edith (Smith) Miller.
She retired from Bloomington Hospital in 1978 after working 25 years there as an LPN. She was a member of the Nine Mile Methodist Church of Linton and the Switz City Eastern Star.
Survivors include two sons, Jim L. (Gwen) Zimmerly of Nashville and Kenneth D. (Maryjo) Zimmerly of Greenwood, a daughter, Sara A. (Mark) Raper of Bloomington, 11 grandchildren, John William Zimmerly, Matthew Lee Zimmerly, Sarah Arthur, Rachel Kelly, Caroline Sibley, Bethany Roper, Jason Zimmerly, Erin Zimmerly, Megan Zimmerly, Nate Zimmerly, and Dawn Ingles and 12 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her guardian angels who were caregivers, Katrina Wise, Brittany Lockerman, Amber Hale, and Kim Purkhiser.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, John Zimmerly, Jr., on Aug. 30, 1990, a son, Bill Zimmerly and three brothers, Lloyd, Hubert and Russell Miller.
A funeral service will be conducted at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 22. Burial will follow at Bohley Cemetery in Linton.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 4-7 p.m., and Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
