Asa was born July 2, 1967 at Bloomington Hospital. He was the son of Nancy Royal and Edward Burch and later Luther W. Haddock, all of Bloomfield, Ind.
Survivors include: mother, Nancy Royal Burch Haddock; father, Edward E. Burch; two brothers, Lester Burch of Lafayette, Indiana and Joseph F. Burch of Bloomfield; Step brother, Landon Haddock of Clarksville, Tennessee; step sisters, Geneva Perry of Georgia, Diann Gambill of Bloomfield, Wanda Sue Johnson of Indianapolis, Ind., and Elaine Robertson of South Carolina; his friend, Sharon of Bloomfield; two half brothers, Seth Burch of Cincinnati, Ohio and Benjamin Burch of Solsberry; many nieces and nephews and aunts and uncles.
Asa was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Linton. Asa was a clogger with Hoosier Toe Tappers of Bloomfield, Rise N' Shine Cloggers of Solsberry, and World Champion cloggers Pride N' Joy Cloggers of Stanford under McClarres. Asa was a member of the carpenter union, millwright union, welder and farming. He later had his own small engine repair in Taylor Township out of his home. He loved riding and repairing motorcycles, he rode at Red Bird, Tennessee and Kentucky. He was a real good motorcycle mechanic, tractors, or anything that came his way.
Asa could carve old men on canes and porch posts. They are beautiful old men. He was a real jack of all trades. He was a friend of young and old alike.
Asa was preceded in death by his stepfather, Luther Haddock, grandparents, Dennis and Elsie Royal and Albert and Mary (McDonald) Burch.
The burial will be at Walnut Grove Cemetery by his step father, Luther Haddock, grandparents, Dennis and Elsie Royal and other relatives.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 31, 2011 at Jenkins & Sons Funeral Home in Bloomfield, with the Mormon Church, Robert Warren and other fellow church members officiating.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and one-hour prior to services Saturday at the funeral home.
