Lois Christine (Manning) Flynn, 81, of Lyons, passed away Monday Jan. 16, 2012 at Regional Hospital in Terre Haute.
Born May 2, 1930 in Cradock, Virginia the daughter of Robert S. and Margaret (Nixon) Manning.
Lois was a member of the Lyons United Methodist Church, Lyons American Legion Auxiliary #479, Worthington VFW Auxiliary. She was a past Lyons Town Council member. She was an active member of the Lyons Senior Citizens. She volunteered for the Feed my Children program, was a den mother for the Boy Scouts of America. She was very generous to numerous organizations. She loved to work crossword puzzles, painting her nails and watching old tv shows.
Surviving relatives are her children; Robert L. Flynn of Terre Haute, Thomas (Kim) Flynn of Lyons, Nancy (Richard) Ausman of Washington, Anita Reed of North Vernon and Ray (Becki) Woodsmall of Avoca. twelve grandchildren; Angela (Brian) Crump, Lesly (Ryan) Spillman, Jordan Flynn, Ryan Flynn, Alyssa Flynn, Tommy Crist, Amanda (John) Montgomery, Andrea (mike) Fields, Christy (Ed) Farhar, Jordan Woodsmall, Daniel Woodsmall and Johnna Woodsmall. She has eight great grandchildren and three brothers; Robert (Floretta) Manning of Odon, Gene (Terry) Manning of Bedford and Walter Manning of Bedford.
She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas L. Flynn on July 12, 1978; her parents; two sisters; Mildred Marshall and Bessie Manning and one granddaughter Tammy Reed.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. Saturday until the hour of service at the Lyons United Methodist Church.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Lyons United Methodist Church with Pastor Rose Sparks officiating. Burial will follow at Prairie Chapel Cemetery in Lyons.
