Milton B. "Bud" West, 78, of Linton, passed away at 11:22 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2012 at IU Health Bloomington Hospital.
He was born Feb/ 9, 1933 in Linton, the son of John and Dorothy (Sharp) West.
He retired from the United States Air Force and later from the state of Florida. He was a member of the Pleasant Grove Church of Christ of Lyons, American Legion Post 22 and BPO Elks, both of Linton, and VFW Post 7117 of Worthington. He was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War and the Vietnam War.
Survivors include three sisters, Karen McCombs of Linton, Suzanne (Gene) Oliver of Lyons, and Sally Skidmore of Brazil, a brother, David (Nancy) West of Linton, several nieces and nephews, several great-nieces and great-nephews, a sister-in-law, Betty West of Linton, and his companion, Betty Terrell of Spencer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Jim West, and an infant brother, Jack Manard West.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 27 at Pleasant Grove Church of Christ with the Rev. Mike Roth officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Grove Cemetery. American Legion Post 22 will conduct military graveside rites.
Visitation will be at 9 a.m. on Friday at the church until the hour of the service.
