David M. Wilkins, 59, of Jasonville, passed away at 9:40 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 26, 2012 in Regional Hospital, Terre Haute.
He was born July 19, 1952 in Germany to Jack Wilkins and Frieda (Allen) Wilkins.
Survivors include his son, David E. Wilkins of Linton; best friend, Karen Henico; second mom, June Wilkins of Jasonville; sisters, Mary Wilkins of Indianapolis, Terrie Long of Jasonville, Brenda St. John of Indianapolis; brothers and sisters-in-law, Bill and Robin Wilkins of Linton, Robert Wilkins of Indianapolis, Richard Wilkins of Indianapolis, Mike and Alisha Wilkins of Jasonville; step-sisters, Debby and Bill Kennett of Jasonville, Mona Hendricks of Jasonville; step-brothers, Rod and Lori Lambermont of Jasonville, Randy and Linda Lambermont, of Brazil, IN, Edward and Sandy Lambermont of Jasonville; many nieces and nephews; one special niece and nephew, Lanie Swick and Kipton Griffith, who he babysat with for four years.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Frieda Wilkins and father, Jack E. Wilkins.
David loved his dog Amy Nicole, who he left in his son's care. He loved to read and owned hundreds of books relating to war, he also watched many movies with his son. If David could have left a message, it would be "Don't Smoke".
Arrangements are entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville.
Cremation was chosen and a Gathering of Friends is scheduled from 1 -- 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 11. A memorial service will follow at 2 p.m. with Pastor Jerry Bolinger officiating.
