She was born Jan. 26, 1945 the daughter of John R. and Virginia C. (Barker) Allen.
Shirley worked several years as a beautician and owned her own shop, The Village Haircut in Newburgh. Later in life she was a QMA at Evansville State Hospital and the Lyons Senior Center.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kevin Ray Callis in 1987; her parents, John R. Allen in 1980 and Virginia Gray in 2009; and one granddaughter, Chelsea Nicole Flake in 1994.
She is survived by two daughters, Julie (Mason) Flake of Newburgh and Kelli Jo (Bill) LaRoche of Linton; one son, Jeffrey (Adrienne) Hughes of Bloomfield; seven granddaughters; two grandsons; one brother, Stanley (Dixie) Allen of Lyons; and one niece, Jerry Demontagnac of Vincennes.
A memorial service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 3, at the Lyons Community Building.
Jenkins & Sons Funeral Home in Bloomfield is in charge of arrangements.
