Nelda June Hasler, 84 of Linton, passed away at 5:45 a.m. Saturday morning, Feb. 25, 2012, at VNA Hospice House in Vero Beach, FL.

She was born in Worthington on Sept. 30, 1927, the daughter of Dayle and Mary O. (Cade) Newsom.

June was a 1945 graduate of Switz City High School. She married Delmar C. Hasler on July 25, 1945. She was a co-owner and served with her husband for many years at Welch & Cornett Funeral Homes in Linton and Worthington.

She was a member of Saron United Church of Christ, Order of the Eastern Star, American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Delta Theta Tau, the Ladies Bridge Club, Qui Vive Club and Ladies Elks, all of Linton. During her sons youth, June was a Cub Scout mother.

She is survived by her husband, Delmar C. Hasler, of Linton, two sons, Randy (Sharon) Hasler of Lucas, KY and Rodney (Beth) Hasler of Bloomington, eight grandchildren, Jamie (Brad) Henico, Jenny Basham, Erin (Will) Farley, Ruana Morrison, Caleb (Abbie) Hasler, Nathan (Kerry) Hasler-Brooks, Matthew Hasler, and Elizabeth (Ben) Fogle, and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Robert Newsom.

Funeral service will be at Saron United Church of Christ in Linton at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 1, 2012, with Revs. Mike and Erica Roth officiating.

Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Linton.

Visitation will be at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, and Thursday at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of service.

Memorial contributions may be given to Saron Church or the Linton Community Food Pantry through the funeral home.
