He was born on May 1, 1920 in Greene County, the son of Jesse and Nila (Padgett) Price.
Robert graduated from Pleasantville High School in 1939. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served during WWII. Robert worked as a coal miner at Peabody Coal Co. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Dugger, Dugger American Legion Post 224, Masonic Lodge of Linton, Scottish Rite, and Zorah Shrine of Terre Haute.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Aretta Davidson in 1998; one brother, Dihone Price; and four sisters, Zlmro Gillium, Georgia Goodman, Catherine Bennett, and Thelma Storms.
Survivors include three sons, Robert (Gloria) W. Price of Rosedale, Gary (Lois) R. Price of Rosedale, and Kenneth (Debi) R. Price of Richland City; one daughter; Marilyn (Robert) Kay Kidwell of Bloomington. Robert is also survived by eight grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Masonic funeral service will be at 12:30 p.m. and funeral service will be at1 p.m. on Saturday, March 3 at Newkirk's Funeral Home with the Rev. Steve Talpas officiating.
Interment will follow in Dugger Cemetery.
