Brent D. Simpson, 49, of Hymera, IN, Went home to be with his Heavenly Father at Sullivan County Community Hospital with pneumonia with his family by his side on March 10, 2012.

He was born May 16, 1962 in Sullivan, IN to William D. Simpson and Janice M. (Hall) Simpson .

Survivors include his parents: William and Jan Simpson of Hymera, IN, aunts and uncles, Pat and Forest Black of Highland, IN and Herbert and Frostie Hall of Brazil, IN and several cousins.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Bryan Simpson; grandparents and several aunts and uncles.

Brent worked at the Lucky Dollar Grocery while in High School, graduating from North Central High School Class of 1980. He worked at Browns Sporting Goods Store in the Mall at Merrillville while attending Northwestern University two years prior to entering the U.S. Air Force where he was stationed at Minot, ND where he obtained Security Clearance. After serving his country he went to work for Boeing Aerospace in Everett, WA and worked on the Star Wars Program. Brent was a member of IBEW Local #553 at Research Triangle in Raleigh-Durham, NC, Hymera Masonic Lodge #588 F & AM and an honorary member of several other Masonic Lodges, The Sottish Rite Valley of Terre Haute, Sullivan American Legion Post #139 where he served as a member of the Honor Guard, 40&8 VOITURE of Terre Haute and the NRA. Brent was an avid reader of the Bible and Civil War History.

Arrangements are entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville with visitation scheduled from 4 - 8 p.m. Tuesday and 9 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the Funeral Home. Funeral Services are 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 14 at the Cox Funeral Home with Pastor Olin Strader officiating. With a Masonic Memorial Service at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Interment will be at K of P Cemetery in Hymera, IN with Military Graveside Rites.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Disabled Veterans. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
