GREENE COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT JAIL LOG

* March 19 -- Kyle R. Barron, 25, of Seymour, was arrested by the Greene County Sheriff's Department on a preliminary charge of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated. Bond set at $4,000.

* March 19 -- James D. Abel, 23, of rural Bloomfield, was arrested by the Indiana State Police on a preliminary charge of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated.

* March 17 -- Jacquelyn Akers, 50, of Linton, was arrested by the Linton police on a preliminary charge of public intoxication. She was released after posting $500 bond. Court date set for 8:30 a.m. on March 23.

* March 17 -- Caleb D. Cassidy, 29, rural Bloomfield, was arrested by the Greene County Sheriff's Department on a preliminary charge of possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and battery. No bond set pending a court appearance.

* March 17 -- Kelly R. Oliphant, 28, of rural Scotland, was arrested by the Indiana State Police on preliminary charges of battery on a law enforcement officer, resisting law enforcement. She was released after posting $3,000 bond. Court date set for 8:30 a.m. on March 23.

* March 17 -- Steven J. Powell, 21, of Worthington, was arrested by the Greene County Sheriff's Department on a preliminary charge of public intoxication. Released after posting $500 bond. Court date set for 8:30 a.m. on March 23.

* March 17 -- Joshua D. Howerton,26, of Ellettsville, was arrested by the Greene County Sheriff's Department on a warrant for failure to appear in court. No bond set pending a court appearance.

* March 16 -- Curtis L. Freeman, 33, of Worthington, was arrested by the Greene County Sheriff's Department on a preliminary charge of possession of a controlled substance. No bond set pending a court appearance.

* March 16 -- Carrie A. Steadman, 34, of Linton, was arrested by the Indiana State Police on a preliminary charge of driving while suspended with a prior conviction. She was released after posting $1,000 bond. Court date set for 8:30 a.m. on March 23.

LINTON POLICE DEPARTMENT ACTIVITY LOG

The Linton Police Department log for March 16-18 included: One forgery/counterfeiting case; one breaking and entering; one fraud case; two illegal burns; one fight in a bar; one custody dispute; one drug investigation; two reports of criminal mischief; three civil complaints; one disorderly conduct case; one structure fire; one personal injury traffic accident; one property damage traffic accident; one animal complaint; three suspicious vehicles/persons; three harassment complaints; one intoxicated (possible) driver; three reports of reckless drivers; three theft cases; one arrest on a warrant; two domestic disputes; one community relations detail; and 13 traffic stops.

* March 16 -- A Linton woman was arrested on a public intoxication charge after LPD officers responded to a noise complaint at a residence on NE F St. at 11:50 p.m. Arrested was Jacquelyn L. Akers, 50, of Linton. When officers arrived at the residence, Akers was allegedly walking in the street yelling and making noise. She was told to return to her home, but refused. LPD Officer Brock Garrison stated that Akers was unable to stand without stumbling and she fell down when officers were on the scene. There allegedly was a strong smell of alcohol on her breath. Akers tested at .22 percent a portable breath test -- nearly three times the legal level of intoxication at .08 percent alcohol concentration. She was released from jail after posting $500 bond. Court date set for 8:30 a.m. on March 23.
