Good job Indiana legislators

To the Editor:

Kudos to our legislators for amending Indiana Code 1149 concerning tobacco use in our state.

The greater availability of smoke-free air in and around restaurants, businesses and work places after July 1 will benefit us all! But even though the new statute doesn't take effect until July 1, I would like to encourage Greene County commerce to move forward now, re-evaluating their smoke free policies, or lack thereof. Now is the time to address the issue of moving those smoking areas away from public buildings, preparing your customers and helping your employees to go smoke free, complying with the new no smoking laws.
