She was born May 1, 1932, in Marlboro, SC, the daughter of Golda and Lucy Ellen (Barber) Ridgen.
She was a homemaker and a member of the First Christian Church, the Prime Timers and the Quilt Club, all of Linton. She had worked at Glenburn Nursing Home and Keller's Chair Factory, both in Linton.
Survivors include three daughters, Debby Everhart of Lyons, Darla Lewis of Shelburn and Dvonda (William) Scott of Bloomfield; six grandchildren, Michele Graves, Nikki Vestel, Mike Bailey, Rikki Edwards, Willie Scott and Sarah Scott; and 10 great-grandchildren, Harley, Austin, Christopher, Peyton, Skylar, Alijiah, Fuschia, Kaydience, Meagan and Cole.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Avery Wayne Lewis, in 2002, to whom she was married Sept. 13, 1952; a son, Newton Wayne Lewis; five brothers; and six sisters.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 31, at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton with Warren Shake officiating.
Burial will follow at Walnut Grove Cemetery in rural Bloomfield.
Visitation will be from 5-8 P.M. Friday & after 10 A.M. Saturday at the funeral home.
