Barbara Ann (Booker) Wence
Barbara Ann (Booker) Wence went to meet her Lord on April 4, 2012. She was born May 25, 1921 in Pleasantville to Robert Archie Booker and Verna Douthitt Booker.

Barbara had one brother, Robert Booker.

She is proceeded in death by her parents, brother and husband of 33 years, Carl Wence.

She is survived by son Carl Gene Wence, his wife Judy, grandson David of Linton, son Ronald Wence, his wife Shirley of Tucson, Ariz., son Larry Wence, his wife Earline, grandson Jeff, wife Cassie, granddaughter Laurie, her husband Andy of Louisville, Ky., son Terry Wence, his wife Mary and grandson Tyler of Terre Haute, and seven wonderful great-grandchildren.

Barbara retired as a sales person from Roots after 35 years of employment, working at the original downtown location as well as Honey Creek Square. She enjoyed going to Banks of the Wabash Chorus performances for over 40 years. Barbara was also an avid traveler with Turner coaches for many years and loved the many trips she took with them, especially to Branson, Mo. Many thanks from the family for the kindness that was always shown to her by the employees at Turner.

A special thanks to those at Vista Care Hospice for the wonderful care that they provided.

A graveside service will be held at the Dugger Cemetery at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, April 6, 2012, with Pastor Jerry Carmichael officiating.

Arrangements were provided by Newkirk's Funeral Home in Dugger. Friends may call at the funeral home from 1 to 2 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Hospice Vista Care organization.
