Robert L. Bonham, 69, of Dugger, passed away at 12:05 p.m. on Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at Greene County General Hospital in Linton.
He was born in Greene County on July 10, 1942, the son of Charles Bonham and Lillie Hines Bonham.
Bob graduated from Union High School in 1961, was a member of the Bible Baptist Church in Dugger, the United Mine Workers Association, and retired from Peabody Coal Company.
He was preceded in death by his parents;one brother, Charles Bonham; and three sisters, Helen Land, June Froeschke, and Dorothy Wright.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Karen Haskett Bonham, whom he married on Sept. 23, 1961; one son, Terry Bonham (Cheryl) of Dugger; one daughter, Christina White (Thad) of Dugger; two brothers, Lewis Bonham (Sherry) of Dugger and Mike Bonham of Sullivan; two sisters, Phyllis Villain and and Sandy Vaughn, both of Linton; a sister in-law, Ramona Bonham of Dugger; six grandchildren, Audrey Pickering (Ben), Adam, Sierra, Josh, Terry, and Cory, and 88 nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 14, 2012 at Newkirk's Funeral Home with the Rev. Steve Talpas officiating. Interment will follow in the Dugger Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 until 8 p.m. on Friday.
