He was born in Sullivan County on March 7, 1943, the son Cecil "Blackie" Fifer and Anna Belle (Hickman) Fifer.
He graduated from Union High School's Class of 1961. He was retired from Pfizer, Inc. and was a member of Mt. Calvary United Methodist Church.
He enjoyed classic cars, camping with his family, and his dog Nina. His greatest joy in life was spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years Sandra (Moss) Fifer; two sons, Wayne Edward "Eddie" Fifer, Jr (Ginger) of Fairbanks, Darrin Cecil (April) Fifer of Farmersburg; one daughter Susan Ranae (Troy) Stuckwisch of Greencastle; six grandchildren, Hannah, Haylee, Harlee and Seth Fifer, Hayden and Sydney Stuckwisch and one great-grandchild Nayeli Barillas; three sisters Judy (Ron) Jerrell of Linton, Kathy (Rusty) Cox of Dugger, Mandy Jewell of Dugger; one brother by choice of his heart Ron Jerrell of Linton and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, April 20, 2012 at Newkirk's Funeral Home in Dugger, Indiana with Rev. Steve Talpas officiating. Interment will follow at Dugger Cemetery in Dugger.
