She was born in Chicago, Ill., on Sept. 1, 1938 to Ignatius Nicholas and Adeline (Wettstein) Sowka.
She was united in marriage with Jack R. Wolfe on Dec. 15, 1984.
Betty was a homemaker and a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed working with her flowers and was an awesome cook who loved baking and preparing meals for family gatherings.
Survivors include her husband, Jack R. Wolfe, a son Nick (Sue) Duytschaver of Linton; a daughter Beth Duytschaver of Linton; two grandchildren: Michael Aubery and Tyler Hurd; three great grandchildren: Abigail Auberry, Makenzie Auberry, and Michael Ray Auberry; a sister Bernice Denman of Linton; and several nieces and nephews.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, a son Rick Duytschaver (8/15/2011), one brother Nicholas Savian, and a sister Joanie Sowka.
For those who wish to make memorial contributions, the family has requested the American Cancer Society/Susan B. Koman and St. Jude Children's Hospital, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
The funeral service will be at the Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel at 1 p.m. on Monday, April 23, 2012 with Pastor David Swalls officiating. Interment will follow at the Fairview Cemetery in Linton.
