William E. Haynes, 93, of Elizabethtown, Ky. and formerly of Dugger, passed away at 4 p.m. Sunday June 10, 2012 at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown, KY.
He was born in Vincennes on May 11, 1919, the son of William Earl Haynes and Cora Ridgley Haynes.
William retired from Crane Naval Weapon Center, was a World War II Army veteran at the 105th Army General Hospital in North Africa and Italy, a member of the Dugger American Legion Post #224, and the Dugger Masonic Lodge #721.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Yutha Leona Alexander Haynes; and one sister, Virginia Anderson.
Survivors include one son, Richard Haynes (Rita) of Elizabethtown, Ky.; two grandchildren, William James Haynes, and Cynthia Claire; one great grandson, William Jacob Haynes.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 13 at Newkirk's Funeral Home in Dugger with Rev. Jerry Carmichael officiating.
There will be a Masonic Service at 1:30 p.m. Interment will be in the Dugger Cemetery with military graveside rites by the Dugger American Legion.
