Doris Jean (Abrams) Inman-Jewett, 86, of Portland, TX. and formerly of Linton, passed away on Monday evening, June 18, 2012, at Odyssey-Gentiva Center at Trinity in Corpus Christi, TX.
She was born April 15, 1926, in Carlisle, the daughter of Lloyd and Anna (Jerrels) Abrams.
She had worked at J. C. Penney in Linton and sold Amway with her husband, Kenneth, for many years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Portland, TX.
Survivors include: a daughter, Dianna (David) Isaacs of Portland, TX; three brothers, Tom (Virginia) Abrams of Oaktown, Stan (Patsy)Abrams of Carlisle, and William (Sally) Abrams of Oaktown; a sister, Marilyn (Paul) McCammon of New Webster; one grandchild, Cameron (Marta) Isaacs, of St. Johns Newfoundland, Canada; two great-grandchildren, Tanner and Zane; and an aunt, Irene Anders, of Dugger.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Kenneth Inman, in 1974, & a sister, Dorothy Ault.
A funeral service will be conducted at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 26 with Rev. Jim Cooper officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Linton.
Visitation will be held on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 9 a.m. until the time of service.
