James V. Carmichael, 76, of rural Bloomfield, lost his battle with cancer on June 22, 2012.
James was born Feb. 9, 1936 to Harley and Mary (Hudson) Carmichael.
He did farm work for most of his life.
James is survived by his wife, Mary; three sons, Ronnie of Shrunk, Kentucky, David of Elnora and Glen of Evansville; one daughter, Susan of Bloomfield; granddaughters, Amanda Yoder and Cindy Schaffer; great- grandchildren, Miranda, Andria,Dominick, Wyatt, Josh and Allison.
James is preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, one grandson, two brothers, two sisters and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Monday, June 25, at Jenkins & Sons Funeral Home in Bloomfield, with Rev. Eugene Helms officiating. Interment will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery in rural Bloomfield.
