Hennettes celebrate 50th anniversary

Jack and Joyce (Clayton) Hennette of Linton recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.

The event at the Old Bank & Company Restaurant was hosted by their children, Jayne and Jeff James of Fayetteville, N.C., and Jay and Jenni Hennette of Anchorage, Ak., as well as their granddaughters, Megan James, Jaquelin and Jordan Hennette.

Many of the couple's family members and friends were in attendance.

The couple was married June 15, 1962, in Altus, Ok., at the First Baptist Church be Dr. C.A. Roberts, pastor. Jack was serving in the U.S. Air Force at that time.

The couple graduated from Linton-Stockton High school in 1959.

They returned to Linton in 2005 after having lived in Coshocton, Ohio and Madisonville, Ky., where Jack was employed with Peabody Coal in quality control and Joyce was employed at Madisonville Community College nursing department.

Jack and Joyce are both retired and are enjoying the return to their hometown.
