Editorial cartoon offensive, misguided

To the Editor:

The cartoon on Page 4, Saturday July 21, was offensive and misguided. Perhaps the Boy Scouts are following the word of God rather than the word of a sick world.

God says in Leviticus 18:22 reads: "Do not lie with a man as one lies with a woman, that is detestable" and I can quote many more that address this same subject.

If I wanted to hire a man or woman to drive a truck, would I hire a person who is an alcoholic with a poor driving record? Would I hire a known child abuser to work in a nursery? Would I adopt a fox to guard the hen house? No! Then why should I want a gay person as scout leader?

I do not want gay persons abused or hurt either, I have some friends who are gay, but we agree to disagree on this subject, I also have many friends who are of a different political persuasion than I am but we are still friends.

But I do not socialize with people who follow false or no religious beliefs.

You cannot show me anything that opposes God's word that is good or anything that is good that is contrary to God's Living word.

I know I will get some "hate" response to this article and people have a right to respond in any way except with violence.
