Born April 27, 1924 in Owensburg, he was the son of Johnnie and Zella (Roberts) Harp.
He was a machinist for NSWC Crane retiring in 1984 after 44 years of service. He served his country in World War II with the United States Army. He was a member of the Solsberry Masonic Lodge.
Surviving relatives include: his wife whom he married June 2, 1951, Esther (Bennett) Harp; one daughter, Beth Sinclair (Rob) of Springville; one son, Steve Harp (Karen) of Bloomfield; grandchildren, Alicia Budny, Cole Sinclair, Heather Montgomery and Stacy Sinclair; great grandchildren, Dylan Morris, Brittnee Morris and Everly Montgomery.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Eula Harp, one infant brother and his parents.
Funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Friday, August 3, 2012 at Jenkins & Sons Funeral Home in Bloomfield, with Pastor Robert Bruner officiating. Interment will follow in Scotland Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, and one hour prior to service Friday at the funeral home.
