Louie was born Aug. 7, 1931 in Scotland, to Charles and Katie (Miller) Porter.
He was a retired farmer, school bus driver for Central School, and he had been co-manager of Bloomfield Silo. He was a member of Bloomfield Presbyterian Church, and an Army veteran.
Louie is survived by two sons, Larry Porter, Worthington and Lee Porter, Switz City; a granddaughter, Melissa Tuttle, Loogootee; and two great grandsons, Craig and Nicholas.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Linda (Leavitt) Porter on April 22, 2004; two brothers, Bill and Curtis Porter; and two sisters, Bertha Blaker and Emma "Jo" Davis.
Funeral service will be at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Worthington at 11 a.m. on Friday with the Rev. Jim Swaby officiating.
Friends may call at Welch & Cornett from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, and 9 a.m. on Friday until time of service.
Burial will be in Prairie Chapel Cemetery.
