Richard Lee (Modge) Edwards, 57, of Lyons, passed away at 3:12 a.m. Friday, Aug. 31, 2012 at his residence surrounded by family.
Born Dec. 25, 1954 in Linton, he was the son of Forrest Lee and Patricia Anne (Nichols) Edwards.
He was a coal miner for Triad and an avid fisherman. He was a member of the Linton United Methodist Church, Sons of the American Legion in Lyons and the Southern Indiana Bass Anglers.
Surviving relatives include: Fiancee, Linda Fish of Lyons; one son, Christopher Lee Edwards (Amanda) of Lyons; a daughter, Rikki Lynn Edwards of Lyons; his mother, Patricia Anne Edwards of Lyons; two sisters, Cathy Edwards of Linton and Tammy Cox (Ed) of Newberry; brother by choice, K.J. Brown of Oregon; step children, Jim, Terry, Michael, Ty, Dalton, Michelle Fish and Clarence Ransom; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Forrest Lee Edwards and his first wife, Gloria Jean (Rogers) Edwards.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 4, at Jenkins & Sons Funeral Home in Lyons, with Rev. Jim Cooper officiating. Interment will follow in Prairie Chapel Cemetery.
Public visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday and from 10 a.m. until the hour of services on Tuesday at the funeral home.
The family asks that all memorial contributions be made to the Lyons Sons of the American Legion.
