George Bogard Heaton, 85, of Bloomfield, passed away at 11:10 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 1, 2012 at Garden Villa of Bloomington.
Born July 11, 1927 in Indianapolis, he was the son of Walter Franklin and Helen Bell (Bogard) Heaton.
He was an electrical technician for NSWC Crane and a member of the Bloomfield United Methodist Church. He belonged to the Masonic Lodge and Scottish Rite.
Surviving relatives include: one daughter, Michaelle LeGrand (Don) of Bloomfield; grandchildren, Kevin Adcock of Salina, Kan., and Wyatt LeGrand of Bloomfield; one great-grandchild, Ariel Adcock of Salina, Kan.; and one brother, Paul Heaton of Greenwood.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Donna Avenelle Heaton on June 20, 2011, one sister, Juanita Heaton, and his parents.
Private service was conducted at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2012 at Jenkins & Sons Funeral Home in Bloomfield with the Rev. Arlen Pope officiating. Interment was in Antioch cemetery in rural Bloomfield.
