Douglas Francis Trusty, age 90, of Vicksburg, formerly of Linton, passed away at 12:50 P.M. Wed., Sept. 26, 2012 at his daughter's residence in Vicksburg. He was born March 14, 1922, in Vicksburg, the son of Earl Trusty, Sr. & Ruth (Meredith) Trusty.

He was a welder at a coal mine & drove a school bus for Linton School. He owned his own barber shop in Linton for fifty-five years. He was a member of Grace Gospel Church in Linton where he served as an elder, and he was a member of Masonic Lodge #560 in Linton for over fifty years. Doug was a veteran of WW II, where he served in the sea bees. He & four of his brothers were in WW II during the same time period.

Survivors include two daughters, Lorene (Carl) Floyd & Brenda Trusty, both of Vicksburg, a brother, Clovis Trusty of Fremont, Ohio, two grandchildren, Michelle Diane Benefiel & Jennifer Rose, eight great-grandchildren, Brandon, Mallory, Tabitha, Keisha, Cloey, Tanner, Aryan, & Penney, two great-great-grandchildren, Raygan Dee & Jocelyn Rose, three step-grandchildren, Steve Floyd, Denise Graves, & Stuart Floyd, two step-great-grandchildren, Kelsey & Allison, & a step-great-great-grandchild, Wyatt.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Rosie Lorene (Dove) Trusty, one great-grandchild, Paris Rose, four brothers, Myles, Leroy, Earl "Junior", & Grover "Buster" Trusty, & two sisters, Mary Ann Roudebush & Becky McCarthy.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11 A.M. Sat., Sept.29, at Grace Gospel Church in Linton, Pastors Paul Sweet & Shaun Winters officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery. A military graveside service will be conducted by American Legion Post #22.

Visitation will be from 4-9 P.M. Fri. at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton & at 9 A.M. Sat. until the hour of the service at the church. The Linton Masonic Lodge will conduct a memorial service at 7 P.M. Fri. at the funeral home.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Grace Gospel Church in Linton through the funeral home.
