Amber Neal is the Community Service Chair for the New Employee Development Organization (NEDO) at NSWC Crane sponsored by the American Society of Naval Engineers (ASNE) of Southern Indiana.

NEDO is an organization for employees who are starting their careers at Crane. This organization was established to assist in the transition of these individuals into the Crane workforce.

Neal contacted Beth Burcham of the Greene County Literacy Coalition to see how NEDO could help the coalition. A book drive was decided upon and organized by the group. Seventy-six books were collected by the NEDO group.

The books will be used at the Apple Festival to promote literacy. To get a free book, look for the Greene County Literacy tent at the Bloomfield Apple Festival.
