A Worthington woman, who was injured in a single-car accident and taken by medical helicopter to an Indianapolis hospital Wednesday evening, has been released.
Rheannon Peck, 27, was discharged from the emergency room at IU Health Methodist Hospital at about 11 p.m. on Wednesday, according to Greene County Sheriff's Department Deputy Rick Marques and a hospital official.
Peck's 4-year-old son, Braden, who was a passenger, was transferred from Methodist Hospital to IU Health Riley Hospital for Children and is listed in "fair" condition by hospital officials as of 1 p.m. on Thursday, according IU Health Public Relations Specialist Abby Gras.
Greene County Sheriff's Deputy Rick Marques said the 6:20 p.m. accident apparently occurred when Peck was temporarily distracted by reaching into the back seat in an attempt to get her child back in his safety seat.
Peck lost control of her westbound Ford Explorer on State Road 157 at a curve about a half-mile east of the Pryor Bridge, Marques said.
Also responding to the accident were the Worthington Fire Protection Territory Department, Highland Township Fire Department, two units from the Greene County Ambulance Service, and the Indiana State Police.
