The seventh annual Linton Long John Silvers Car Show and Carnival will be conducted Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m.
In past years, the cruise-in focused simply on the car show. This year, store manager Patricia Ruiz is taking the event a step further by adding a kid's carnival with all the proceeds going to the IU Health Riley Hospital for Children.
"The generosity that the (Greene County) community has shown has been tremendous. I would just like to thank everyone who has helped in any way especially with donations." Ruiz commented.
The first 50 cars to enter the competition will receive a dashboard plaque, though as many classic vehicles as possible are urged to join in. After that two awards will be given ---- the Manager's Choice and Best in Show.
Though the car show is technically a competition, managers at Long John Silvers believe the event is more about fun and raising money for their charitable cause than anything.
The kid's carnival will be conducted in the side parking lot near the entrance to the shopping center.
Attractions of the kid's carnival include face painting, balloon animals, ring toss games, a fishing game, and a "pirate" will be there to greet visitors as well.
Those interested in participating in the car show can either enter on the day of the show or call Ruiz at 847-2851.
