Judy Raye (Gardner) Sherer-Lucas, 69, of Bloomington passed away on Friday Oct. 5, 2012 at IU Health Bloomington Hospital.

Judy was born Oct. 4, 1943 in Bloomington, Indiana and was the daughter of Alexander and Virginia Madge (Carpenter) Gardner.

She was the former house director for Delta Chi fraternity at Indiana University and was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Survivors include two daughters, Angel Sherer and Tammy Reynolds, both of Bloomington, and two sons Randy Sherer of Lafayette, and John Sherer of Springville. Also surviving are her sister Sharon Miller of Solsberry, 10 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren and Max Emery Sherer, whom she married on Apr. 8, 1961.

She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Jim Gardner, Philip Gardner and Rodney Gardner.

Services for Judy will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 4235 West Third St., Bloomington. Bishop Jason Francis will officiate. Burial will follow the service at Greene County Chapel Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from noon until service time on Tuesday at the church.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the United Cerebral Palsy Foundation.

The Funeral Chapel of Powell and Deckard is handling arrangements.
