Eastern Greene's quest for their first winning football season willtake a trip to Lynnville for a battle against Tecumseh.
The Thunderbirds, who have a 5-3 mark through eight games, will conclude the regular season Friday night against Tecumseh.
"We are not satisfied with where we are at," EG coach Luke Dean said after defeating Southside Home School 34-6 last Friday. "We still haven't reached our goal of having a winning season.
"We still need a least one more win to achieve that goal."
The Braves, who are led by second-year coach Jeff Daming, have split their first eight decisions.
Tecumseh is averaging slightly less than 27 points per game while allowing 23.
The Braves are coming off of a 56-6 loss to undefeated Class 2A No. 3 North Posey 56-6.
The Braves and Thunderbirds have played half of their schedule against common opponents.
THS defeated Union 32-6 while the T-Birds got the best of the Bulldogs 67-20.
Both took out Wood Memorial, with the Braves winning 48-6 and EG posting a 43-0 victory.
Each lost to North Central -- EG falling 27-0 in a game that was called at halftime because of the weather and THS losing 29-15.
Both played close games against North Daviess with Eastern Greene winning 42-39 while the Braves fell 34-28.
"They are a good football team," said Dean. "It will be a long road trip.
"We will have a big challenge on the road."
Last week against Southside in a cold, driving rain that persisted throughout, the Thunderbirds overcame the conditions and scored 22 points in the fourth quarter to pull away for the victory, which matched their school record single season win total from last year.
Jarred Groomer rushed for 200 yards and Logan Frye had two interceptions, one for a score and another that set up the go-ahead touchdown right before halftime.
