John Kingsley passed away Sept. 3, 2012 at West Kendall Baptist Hospital in Miami, Fla.
He was born Aug. 26, 1954 in New Orleans, La. to Eleanor (Haywod) Kingsley and the late James F. Kingsley, Sr.
John's school years were spent in Bloomfield and he graduated high school in 1973. He entered the U.S. Air Force in 1974 and served eight years. He worked at the Newport News Naval Shipyard and for the last twenty years he worked for the Ordnance Department at the Naval Air Station, Key West, Fla.
He is survived by his wife Gaylene, son John "Jay" (Amber) and three grandchildren, Devin, Isabella and Kaylee, mother Eleanor Kingsley, sisters, Judith (Walter) McDaniel, Jacquline Kingsley, Jewel (James Robert) Carmichael, brothers James (Connie and Daniel Kingsley, aunt Joan Hadorn and uncle Doyle (Linda) Haywood.
Memorial service will be Sunday Oct. 21 at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Bloomfield.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until the hour of service at the Church. Burial will follow at Mt. Nebo Cemetery in Newberry.
