Thank you for helping

with cancer fundraiser

To the Editor:

I would like to thank everyone who helped make the fundraiser for Susan G. Komen of the Wabash Valley a huge success.

A special thank you to Athletic Director Charlie Karazsia and Coach Weber for allowing me to hold this fundraiser at our game. We raised a total of $1,813.50 for this wonderful organization!

Thank you to Joie Gadberry, Morgan Wolfe, Derrick Tennant, Marlene Cooper and Bobby Houston for your help with the bake sale. Also thanks to all who purchased items and made monetary donations. We sold every single item we made!

Thanks to Mrs. Tennant and her third-grade class, Linda Conklin, Joni Hayden and the ladies in the elementary cafeteria for helping with the popsicle sale.

I really appreciate Rick Curl of the Greene County Daily World for his nice article and Derrick Tennant for helping me get the word out to everyone online.

Thank you to all of the students and parents for supporting this cause by participating in hat day and purchasing popsicles. And to my family, thanks for helping me count and roll all of that change! I would also like to thank my teammates and those in the community who purchased helmet ribbons to honor those who have been affected by cancer.

I think our team played an incredible game at Lucas Oil Stadium and honored them well. We also sold "Tackle Cancer" T-shirts at the game. I am excited to report every single shirt was sold!

With all of the support I have seen for this great cause I was reminded again why I am so proud to be a part of this Miner team and this community. Thank you!
